Last year I (@Bookieboo) decided to start this list because the “healthy living” niche in social media didn’t have one. I included celebrity trainers and other people in social media that made a difference everyday. (This list was passed around by PR several times and several paid opportunities were had. YEAH ME, I helped get people jobs!)  This year, I’ve decided to do the list again. But this time I’m going to take out the celebrity trainers and just focus on bloggers and other social media tweeps that don’t have a HUGE platform other then just their voice.

Lots of nominations came in, so this was a difficult list to create. This is basically what I did: (1) Started a list of who I thought was influential, then (2) added people from the nominations, then as the list got over about 80 names I (3) started to take out names based on Klout score and recommendations from people I trusted. That was it. So yes, this list is both objective (based on Klout) and subjective (because I filtered it myself based on the “vibe” I got from each candidate). There’s WAY more than 50 Inspirational Tweeps out there on twitter, but I only had room for 50. AND if you never nominated someone, I had no idea they existed or just was overwhelmed and forgot.

If you were nominated and didn’t make the list it could be for several reasons which include, I could be a complete idiot, I could be blind as a bat or live under a rock, I didn’t jive with your vibe, I thought you might have been a baby blogger and needed to get some more experience under your belt before you made this list, etc. Whatever the reason, come back next year and try again! (But also, come get to know me @Bookieboo cause then it’s easier for me to remember how cool you are coming list time next year!)

Voting widget is below.  All the results are PUBLIC and will be shared with everyone in real time. Voting will commence from August 22nd to the 31st til 9pm PST (12am EST). Then on September 1st, I’ll throw the official list up here for all to see and gawk at.

Keep my house a happy place. Here are some of my rules you must follow to play. *getting up on my soapbox*
1. POSITIVE VIBES ONLY: Yes, this is a popularity contest. Blah blah blah…some of you don’t like that. I know. I personally don’t mind them because I think people that work their asses off should be recognized and that is the way life is. I never won any popularity contest in high school either, so if you have some sort of hang up about that…I’m not really interested. I only like the positive vibes of others congratulating each other. People who like to spout off their sour grapes NEVER make this list. #justsayin
2. CHILL THE F*CK OUT: Yes, this is a voting widget. It’s not perfect, but it’s what I have. If the widget stalls, give it a couple of minutes and come back. PLEASE don’t stress me out about this. At the end of the day, it’s just a voting contest. The results of this list are not going to cure cancer or something. It’s not the end of the world. *I’m going to my happy place ummmmmm*
3. PROMOTION: Other than killing people, I don’t care how you drive traffic to get votes. I’m not the police and i’m not interested in tracking you down. I just hate whining, so if you don’t like how someone is doing something, get creative instead of complaining about it. Be a DO-er not a COMPLAIN-er.
4. MAKING SURE ITS FAIR: Yes, I will be monitoring the results to ensure people aren’t cheating, but realize some people may have more social capital than you think. This happens with Mamavation all the time. The clear winner is not always the winner. So before you come to me and say someone is cheating, you better be POSITIVE about it and come with some proof. Basically, just don’t freak me out unless you know you are FOR REAL.

*gets off soapbox and sprinkles pixie dust on the top 50 names*
